Comparing Film Intros

Pink Panther 2 Film Intro

I think the opening credits for the Pink Panther are really good. i think this because there is animation going on so your not just loking at writing, and listening to the theme song. They also give you the idea of what the film is going to be about. The music especially gives off the impression that it is a mystery type film, and will have something to do with detectives. The animation shows that it will be a detective type film, and they will be travelling around places. These opening credits are well done because they dont give the wrong impression and they fit to the film.

Seven Film Intro

The opening to seven clearly shows that the film is going to be a detective type film. Before the opening credits, there is an intro to the film which shows detectives in a scene. Then when the opening credits come you know that you dont have the wrong message about the film. Everything is like a mystery, including the music.

Psycho Film Intro

When you see the begining of psycho, you think that it is going to be a romantic comedy type film. It is the completely wrong idea you get about it. When you see the opening titles, the music gives this vibe. The music is very fast, like someone is on a mission, or going to commit a crime. The beginning is calming and what happens in the film is the last thing you would expect.

I think that the Pink Panther and Seven are the same type of film as they have the same sort of opening credits. The similarities of the opening credits is the movie, and the images that are in them. The way they are done is both well, and makes you want to watch the film so you know whats going to happen.

I think that the opening titles of 300 are effective because they are representative of the film in terms of gore and battle, hence foreshadowing the plot of the story. In the background of the titles it is an animation of the battle that occurs. The blood splattering from the cartoons form the names and shows that it is an action film. The music in the background is selected specifically to represent the era in which the film is set and creates tension. I think that the opening credits obviously relate to the film and portray the correct impression desired by the film makers. They clearly entice the audience and promote concentration with the intense graphics accompanied by sound.
